The aim of both the developer and the architect during the planning execution of the restoration work was to ensure, as far as possible, that the historic building would be conserved. The high-renaissance style facade was carefully reconstructed. The internal structure with its entrances and corridors, and the arrangement of the various halls, were only altered as little as possible.

Today the residence has regained some of the dramatic elegance of the old building. The main stairway, the first floor and its reception area and the 'Kaisersaal' are particularly impressive.

During the planning process it was decided to ensure that the building be fitted with the latest technical systems, so that the building is technologically up-to-date and able to meet the expectations of its users. For example, the residence's built-in hi-tech is represented by a high capacity data system, advanced security systems and, of course, the catering systems in the kitchens, which can deal with the catering requirements of both large and small events.
